Cascade Eye & Skin Centers provides laser treatments for a number of skincare concerns. Lasers are commonly used to treat unwanted pigmentation, small superficial veins, scarring, birthmarks, skin tone and texture and fine wrinkles. A consultation is recommended to determine which laser options may be an appropriate fit for individual skin concerns.

Fraxel® Lasers

The Fraxel® is true fractional laser technology for advanced skin resurfacing results. Fractional resurfacing creates thousands of microscopic treatment zones per square centimeter, stimulating repair and rejuvenation by inducing the skin’s natural wound-healing response. Fractional laser uses light energy to stimulate natural collagen, rejuvenating skin cells below the surface to smooth the creases and pockets that cause wrinkles and scars.

Physicians around the world have treated nearly one million men and women of all ethnicities. Fraxel laser resurfacing is effective on conditions such as fine lines and pigmentation, deeper lines and wrinkles, acne and surgical scars and Actinic Keratosis (a common precancerous skin condition).

Fraxel fits into any lifestyle, a simple, non-invasive, effective treatment that reverses signs of aging and has been clinically proven to be safe.

Cascade Eye & Skin Centers offers two different Fraxel treatment options; Fraxel Dual restore and Fraxel CO2 repair. A consultation with your skincare provider can determine which Fraxel is best suited for your individual needs.

Fraxel® Dual Restore

The benefits of Fraxel Dual Restore include:

  • Improvement in overall skin texture, tone, and pore size
  • Treatment of melasma, hyperpigmentation, and unwanted brown spots
  • Reduction of wrinkles and acne scars

Treatment

For optimal treatment, the Fraxel Restore is generally done in a series of four treatments. These treatments are spaced approximately four weeks apart.

Post-treatment

Fraxel restores patients may notice redness and mild swelling of the treatment area, often looking tan for the days following treatment.

Fraxel® CO2 Repair

The benefits of CO2 Fraxel Repair include:

  • Improvement in overall skin texture, tone, and pore size
  • Reduction of deep wrinkles and frown lines
  • Fading of age spots, sunspots and redness
  • Tightening of lax or saggy skin

Treatment

The CO2 Fraxel Repair is performed in a single treatment at our University Place location. For our patient’s comfort, anesthesia is used, and downtime is approximately one week.

Clear + Brilliant™ Laser Skincare

Clear + Brilliant™ is a revolutionary, gentle, laser skincare treatment clinically proven to fight the effects of aging skin. It is a safe, non-surgical and non-invasive treatment.

Clear + Brilliant Benefits

Improves tone and texture and gives skin a radiant, youthful glow.
Creates a more even skin canvas, with a reduction in the appearance of pores.

The Clear + Brilliant laser utilizes a patented Intelligent Optical Tracking™ System to ensure your skincare professional maintains proper contact with your skin, providing a uniform application to the entire treatment area.

Treatment

A typical Clear + Brilliant treatment for the face and neck requires approximately thirty minutes of in-office time. Immediately after your treatment, you may experience some redness and mild swelling, which usually diminishes within 12 hours or less.

Post-treatment

For the days following your treatment, you may experience minor itching or skin sensitivity. These are indications of the skin’s natural renewal process, normally dissipating within a few days.

Most skincare products can be used immediately after treatment. However, your skincare professional will advise you of any products that should be avoided.

IPL Skin Rejuvenation

IPL (Intense Pulse Light) Skin Rejuvenation is a non-invasive procedure that offers the benefit of improving skin tone and surface imperfections associated with aging and photodamage. IPL is ideal for any part of your face, neck and décolleté with skin redness, telangiectasia (tiny veins) or brown spots.

Patients may experience a mild pinching or stinging sensation with each pulse of light; however, anesthesia or pain medication is typically not needed. Most treatments require an hour or less of time spent in any of our four Cascade Cosmetic Center locations.

What to Expect

Immediately following a treatment of IPL, you may experience mild swelling, the brown spots will begin to darken and your skin may appear slightly red on the treated area. This typically lasts from a few hours to a day or more. The darkened spots will flake off and fade in one to three weeks. Redness and telangiectasia will decrease, resulting in a more even skin color and clarity.

Treatment

Gradual improvement is typically achieved in five treatment sessions, usually spaced one month apart. New brown spots, telangiectasia and redness may appear with new sun exposure, which can also be treated. Prevention of future sun damage should be practiced with daily broad-spectrum sunscreen use and protective measures (use of a hat or umbrella and seeking shade) while outdoors.

A consultation is required to determine if IPL Skin Rejuvenation is the appropriate procedure for your skin indication.

VBeam® Perfecta Pulsed Dye Laser

Cascade Eye & Skin Centers trusts the VBeam® Perfecta Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL) due to its proven safety and effectiveness in removing discolorations, including rosacea and sun spots, age spots, freckles, as well as other vascular pigmentation abnormalities.

What to Expect

The Vbeam uses Pulsed Dye Laser technology to deliver an intense but gentle burst of light into targeted areas of the skin. Most patients notice results right away, and it’s safe for all skin types.

Treatment

Patients often report a warming or tingling sensation during the treatment, although anesthetics are usually not required.

Post-treatment

Patients often report a sensation similar to a mild sunburn. It is important to avoid sun exposure before and throughout treatment. A broad-spectrum sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher should be worn daily during this time.
