Dr. Hirota specializes in medical and surgical dermatology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, a member of the South Puget Sound Dermatology Society, a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, and a life member of the Association of Military Dermatologists.
Dr. Hirota proudly served our country for 31 years in the United States Army and Air Force before retiring in 2011. He has served as Chief of Dermatology at Moncrief Army Community Hospital in South Carolina, Evans Army Community Hospital in Colorado, and the Madigan Army Medical Center here in Tacoma, Washington.
After graduating from the United States Air Force PA program with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Oklahoma University, he went on to receive his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas.
Upon completion of his Internship at the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center, Dr. Hirota decided to complete his Dermatology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Hirota has worked with the Cascade Eye & Skin Centers team for over ten years and takes joy in providing his patients with the best possible care. Collaborating with his fellow providers as well as diagnosing and treating skin cancers are some of the most rewarding aspects of his career.
When he is not working, Dr. Hirota likes to spend his time collecting Disney pins and practicing the art of photography. He is also a trained classical guitarist playing the six and 12-string guitar as well as the 12-string banjo. He looks forward to continuing to provide his patients with an exceptional standard of care.
