Experience the Latest in Cataract Treatment

At Cascade Eye & Skin Centers, we specialize in ultrasonic cataract removal, a low-stress procedure performed with sound waves rather than lasers.

With this technique, the lens is divided into small pieces using ultrasonic vibrations to easily remove the cataract-affected lens. After it is removed, an artificial lens (called an intraocular lens or IOL) is placed inside the eye to replace the focusing power of the natural lens – helping you see more clearly.

Comfortable Surgery. Fast Recovery.

Our dedicated ambulatory surgery center, located at our Puyallup clinic, provides a comfortable environment for our cataract surgery patients.

Patients return home within a few hours of surgery and require minimal downtime, usually resuming regular activities the following day.

Cataract Lens Options

During cataract surgery, the affected lens is replaced with an artificial one. Our surgeons use the most advanced intraocular lens technology available, and they will work with you to ensure you receive the best lens for your unique lifestyle and vision needs.

Astigmatism
Correction

Toric lenses are designed to reduce blurred vision caused by astigmatism. Patients who choose toric lenses will enjoy sharper vision, though glasses may still be required.

Multifocal

Multifocal lenses are designed to offer the greatest versatility in your vision, helping you see close up and at a distance. Patients who choose these lenses may experience greater independence from glasses.

Vision Problems with Cataracts

As we age, the clear, natural lens in our eye can become clouded, like a window with fogged-up glass. This clouding is called a cataract, and it can greatly impact the quality of our vision. In fact, cataracts are one of the leading causes of blindness in the world.
