Your Consultation
At your initial liposuction consultation at one of our locations, Dr. Patel will evaluate your overall health and medical history to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. He will also assess the location of your fat deposits and check the condition of your skin. Once he has evaluated your concerns, Dr. Patel will explain the body contouring option that is the most suitable for you. Cascade Plastic Surgery patients often elect to have liposuction in conjunction with another procedure, such as a tummy tuck or breast surgery.
Understanding Your Liposuction Surgery
Liposuction has evolved greatly over the years, and today, there are several advanced techniques that are available. Dr. Patel currently offers power-assisted liposuction to his patients as he believes that this technique provides the most immediate and gratifying results.
This kind of liposuction utilizes a power-assisted cannula that moves back and forth to remove the targeted amount of fat tissue, which is faster and more efficient than a surgeon manually breaking up and suctioning out the fat tissue.
Recovery
The recovery period will vary for each person, but most liposuction patients report mild discomfort following the procedure, which can be alleviated with pain medications prescribed by our team. You should expect post-surgical bruising and swelling, which is typically treated with a fitted elastic garment that you must wear for 3-4 weeks.
In the weeks following your surgery, Dr. Patel will closely monitor your recovery at your follow-up visits with him, but you will likely be able to return to work around one-week post-op.
