Cascade Eye & Skin Centers, P.C., is a comprehensive ophthalmology and dermatology practice. We provide vision correction procedures such as LASIK and cataract with lens implant surgery, as well as all types of medical and cosmetic dermatology services. Cascade's eye surgeons perform eyelid surgery, including blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) and brow lift, at our Puyallup location for patients from University Place / Tacoma, Auburn, Gig Harbor, and the rest of the south Puget Sound area.
Blepharoplasty eyelid surgery is performed at Cascade's outpatient surgery center in Puyallup in order to reshape the eyelids. We perform blepharoplasty eyelid surgery for patients from University Place / Tacoma and the rest of western Washington. Blepharoplasty can be both a functional and cosmetic procedure. This form of eyelid surgery is used to correct drooping upper and lower eyelid skin that develops with age. In advanced cases, drooping of the upper eyelid skin may block the upper field of vision. When vision is affected, eyelid surgery is performed to improve peripheral vision (functional blepharoplasty). In less serious cases, cosmetic blepharoplasty is performed to restore a more rested, youthful appearance to the eyes and face.
Blepharoplasty is performed using incisions along the natural folds of the eyelid. Swelling and bruising following surgery lasts about two weeks, but complete healing takes a few months. Complications are rare and usually minor and will be discussed in detail with all patients considering blepharoplasty.
Our board certified eye plastic surgery specialists also perform many other types of eyelid surgery, including ptosis (pronounced “Toe-Sis”) surgery (correction of eyelid muscle malposition), correction of in-turned (entropion) and out-turned (ectropion) eyelids, surgery for excessive tearing (dacryocystorhinostomy or DCR), reconstructive surgery after skin cancer removal (Mohs’ surgery), repair of eyelid trauma, and a variety of other eyelid surgery procedures.

A brow lift can be performed independently or in conjunction with blepharoplasty eyelid surgery at Cascade's Puyallup location for University Place / Tacoma and south Puget Sound-area patients. The brow lift procedure is designed to correct drooping in the brow area and to smooth wrinkles and frown lines of the brow and forehead.
Cascade surgeons offer several different approaches to brow lift surgery. During the preoperative evaluation, the surgeon will discuss if brow lift surgery is appropriate for you and which procedure will work best.
